Is this password generator secure?
Yes. All generation happens in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues() — the same cryptographic API used in TLS and SSH. Nothing is sent to any server.
Are my passwords stored anywhere?
No. Generated passwords exist only in your browser tab. Close or navigate away and they're gone. We do not log, store, or transmit anything you generate.
How long should my password be?
At least 16 characters for any account that matters. Length multiplies the search space exponentially — a 16-character random password is astronomically harder to crack than a 12-character one.
Should I use a password manager?
Yes — it's the only realistic way to use a unique password for every account. Generate a strong passphrase as your master password, then let the manager handle the rest.
What's the difference between a password and a passphrase?
A passphrase is several random words strung together (e.g. correct-horse-battery-staple). It's longer, higher entropy, and easier to remember. Use our Passphrase Generator for accounts you need to type manually.
